Last Day

Today’s my last day of work. I’m just wrapping everything up, then back home to pack and get ready for the road trip this weekend. Looking forward to starting life over again.

We’re engaged!

Thuc Nghi on June 12th, 2006

Finally! We’re officially engaged and are actively planning our wedding. We’ll add more details as we get them finalized.

I started a wedding registry at amazon.com (I love amazon.com, you can get anything you want there). It’s really fun, albeit (who says this word outloud?) time consuming because I want to find the best deal and buying experience for my guests. I’ve been to a couple weddings and have looked at a few registries. I haven’t been truly impressed with any of them. People register for weird stuff! Or things that I think aren’t worth asking for… But I suppose it’s their registry so they ask for whatever they want. I registered for some wine glasses, I learned a lot about them in the process. Did you know that they make glasses in different shapes for different types of wine? That seems a little fussy to me, but that’s supposed to make the wine taste better. Also, crystal is just glass with 24% or more lead in it. The lead makes it sparkle, but it’s not safe to store liquids in containers with lead nor is it safe for pregnant women and children to drink out of them. Plus, they break more easily. So why would anyone want to buy glass with lead in it?! Especially, now that there is technology to make lead-free “crystal” that sparkles just as much.
